Optical Transceiver: Main Functions, Features and Practical Application Scenarios
1. Main Functions
- Optical/Electrical Signal Conversion: Converts electrical signals output from devices such as computers and switches into optical signals for transmission through optical fibers; at the receiving end, it converts the optical signals back into electrical signals.
- Extended Transmission Distance: Solves the problem of limited transmission distance (100 meters) of Ethernet cables by extending the transmission distance to several kilometers or even hundreds of kilometers using optical fibers.
- Interconnection of Different Media: CONVERTISSEUR DE MÉDIAS, Enables seamless interconnection between copper cable networks and optical fiber networks, supporting the conversion between single-mode/multi-mode fibers, single-fiber/dual-fiber systems, and different wavelengths or rates.
- Cost Reduction and Flexible Networking: Provides an economical solution for upgrading copper cable networks to optical fiber networks, allowing users to choose different types based on their needs to save on investment.
- Improved Network Performance: Optical signal transmission features low loss, high speed, and strong resistance to electromagnetic interference, making it suitable for high-speed, long-distance, and highly secure communication environments.

- RJ45 Ethernet Port: 10M/100M/1000M/2.5G/5G/10G
Feature 2: Supports Various Optical Module Application Scenarios
- SFP+ module or AOC or DAC, 10G
- SFP module, 1.25G/2.5G
- XPON STICK/GPON STICK/épon BÂTON
- xgs-pon STICK/10G EPON STICK/XGPON STICK
3. Practical Application Scenarios
- Enterprise Park Network Expansion: For large enterprise parks with multiple buildings (distance between buildings exceeding 100 meters), the optical transceiver converts electrical signals from switches in each building into optical signals, transmitting them through optical fibers to achieve high-speed interconnection between buildings. It supports flexible networking, allowing enterprises to upgrade from original copper cable networks to optical fiber networks at low cost, and is compatible with multiple rates to meet the needs of different office terminal devices (such as computers, printers, and surveillance cameras).
- Data Center Interconnection: In data centers, it is necessary to realize high-speed transmission between servers, switches, and storage devices. The SFP+/SFP ports of the optical transceiver support 10G/2.5G and other rates, and are compatible with SFP+ modules, AOC, DAC and other optical modules, which can meet the high-speed, low-loss, and anti-interference requirements of data center internal interconnection, and also realize long-distance interconnection between multiple data centers (transmission distance up to hundreds of kilometers).
- Broadband Access Network Construction: Operators use optical transceivers to connect XPON/GPON/EPON STICK and other modules, realizing the conversion between optical fiber networks and copper cable networks. It can extend the broadband access distance to rural areas, remote communities and other regions, solve the problem of limited transmission distance of traditional copper cable broadband, and provide users with high-speed and stable broadband services at a low cost.
- Long-Distance Video Surveillance System: In scenarios such as highway, railway, and industrial park surveillance, the surveillance cameras are usually distributed at long distances (exceeding 100 meters). The optical transceiver converts the electrical signals of the cameras into optical signals for long-distance transmission, with low loss and strong anti-electromagnetic interference ability, which can ensure the clarity and stability of surveillance images. At the same time, it supports multi-rate compatibility, which can adapt to surveillance cameras of different resolutions (1080P, 4K, etc.).
- Campus Network Upgrading: For universities and middle schools with large campuses, the original copper cable network has problems such as limited transmission distance and poor anti-interference ability. The optical transceiver can realize the seamless interconnection between the copper cable network and the optical fiber network, extend the transmission distance to several kilometers, and improve the network speed and stability. Users can choose different types of optical modules and rates according to the needs of teaching buildings, dormitories, laboratories and other areas, saving investment in network upgrading.
