SC APC vs SC UPC Attenuator

SC APC and SC UPC attenuators are not the same. They use different connector end-face structures and should not be mixed directly.

Choose SC/UPC when the connected fiber line, patch cable, adapter, ONU, OLT, splitter, or optical equipment also uses SC/UPC.

Choose SC/APC only when the connected equipment and patch cable are SC/UPC.

Do not directly connect APC and UPC end-faces together, because this may cause poor contact, higher insertion loss, higher reflection, and unstable optical performance.

How to Choose the Right Attenuation Value

The correct attenuation value depends on the optical receiver input range and the actual received optical power. Before choosing the dB value, measure the current optical power with an optical power meter.
