10G SFP+ DAC Cable Overview

The 10G SFP+ DAC Cable is a passive direct attach copper cable designed for short-distance 10Gbps connections between devices equipped with compatible SFP+ ports.

The cable integrates an SFP+ connector at each end with a fixed Twinax copper cable assembly. It carries electrical signals directly between the two devices without optical conversion, eliminating the need to purchase separate optical transceivers and fiber patch cables.

This passive DAC cable is suitable for switch-to-switch, server-to-switch, NIC-to-switch, NAS-to-switch, router-to-switch, firewall, and storage network connections. It is particularly suitable for same-rack and adjacent-rack installations where low cost, low power consumption, and low latency are more important than long transmission distance.

Standard selectable lengths include 1m, 1.5m, 3m, 5m, and 7m. Shorter cables are generally easier to route and provide greater signal margin, while longer passive cables require suitable cable gauge and compatible host equipment.

Compatibility coding is available for Cisco, Huawei, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Juniper, HPE Aruba, Intel, Mellanox, Arista, H3C, ZTE, TP-Link, Brocade, Extreme, Alcatel-Lucent, and other supported platforms. Customers should provide the exact device model used at each end of the connection.

Passive DAC assemblies contain no active signal-conditioning circuitry in the SFP+ connectors, which helps reduce cost and power consumption compared with optical solutions.
