24 Port Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch Overview
The 24 Port Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch is designed for high-density PoE networks that require centralized power delivery, Gigabit switching, fiber uplinks and advanced Layer 2 network management.
It provides twenty-four 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports with IEEE 802.3af/at PoE support, allowing compatible IP cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, access control devices and other powered devices to receive both network data and electrical power through a single Ethernet cable.
Two additional Gigabit RJ45 ports and two 1G SFP slots provide flexible uplink options for connecting the switch to routers, NVRs, servers, aggregation switches or long-distance fiber backbones.
With 56Gbps switching capacity, an 8K MAC address table and a 4Mbit packet buffer, the switch is designed for high-density Gigabit access networks with multiple simultaneous data streams.
Advanced Layer 2 management functions include IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, QoS, ACL, IGMP Snooping, GVRP, GMRP, port mirroring, Link Aggregation, STP and RSTP. Network administrators can configure and monitor the switch through the Web interface, CLI, SNMP, SSH, Telnet, RMON and other supported management protocols.
Ring network redundancy with switching recovery below 20ms helps improve network availability for surveillance, industrial communication and other applications where network interruptions should be minimized.
The rack-mounted metal enclosure, IP30 protection rating and -20°C to 75°C operating temperature range make the switch suitable for equipment rooms, industrial communication systems, surveillance networks and other demanding network environments.
24 Gigabit PoE+ Ports with 400W Power Budget
Twenty-four Gigabit RJ45 ports support IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet.
Each PoE port can supply up to 30W to a compatible powered device, while the switch provides a total PoE power budget of up to 400W.
The intelligent PoE power management system helps distribute available power between connected devices. Ports 1–8 can be configured as priority ports so critical devices receive higher power priority when the total PoE demand approaches the available power budget.
Typical powered devices include:
- IP surveillance cameras
- PTZ cameras
- WiFi access points
- VoIP phones
- Access control systems
- Intercom systems
- Industrial Ethernet devices
- Other IEEE 802.3af/at powered devices
The 400W value represents the total available PoE budget. It does not mean that all 24 ports can simultaneously provide 30W.
Flexible Copper and Fiber Uplinks
The switch provides four dedicated Gigabit uplink interfaces in addition to the twenty-four PoE access ports.
2× Gigabit RJ45 Uplinks
The additional copper uplink ports support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation and can be used to connect routers, servers, NVRs or upstream switches.
2× 1G SFP Uplinks
The two 1000Mbps SFP slots support compatible Gigabit optical transceivers for multimode, single-mode or BiDi fiber links.
SFP transceivers are sold separately. Select the optical module according to the required connector, fiber type, wavelength and transmission distance.
Advanced Layer 2 Network Management
The switch provides comprehensive Layer 2 network management for administrators who require more control than a basic unmanaged PoE switch.
VLAN
IEEE 802.1Q VLAN support allows network traffic to be logically separated between departments, cameras, access points, voice devices or other network groups.
VLAN IDs from 1 to 4094 are supported.
QoS
Eight QoS queues together with IEEE 802.1p and DSCP priority mechanisms help prioritize time-sensitive traffic such as voice, surveillance video and critical control data.
Access Control
Up to 255 VLAN-based and MAC-based ACL rules help restrict unauthorized network access and control traffic between different devices or network segments.
Multicast Management
IGMP Snooping and GMRP help control multicast traffic and reduce unnecessary broadcast traffic in IPTV, surveillance and other multicast applications.
Link Aggregation
Multiple physical Ethernet links can be combined for additional bandwidth or link redundancy between compatible switches and network devices.
Port Mirroring
Port mirroring allows selected network traffic to be copied to a monitoring port for troubleshooting, packet capture and network analysis.
Network Redundancy and Ring Protection
The switch supports network redundancy functions including:
- STP
- RSTP
- Link Aggregation
- Ring network configuration
Ring switching recovery is specified at less than 20ms, helping maintain communication when a link failure occurs in supported ring network deployments.
This makes the switch suitable for surveillance networks, industrial Ethernet systems and other applications where network availability is important.
Secure and Flexible Management
The switch can be configured and monitored using multiple management methods.
Supported management and monitoring protocols include:
- Web GUI
- Command Line Interface (CLI)
- SNMP v1
- SNMP v2c
- SNMP v3
- SSH
- Telnet
- HTTP
- RMON
- TFTP
- SNTP
- Syslog
- LLDP
The switch also supports MIB-II, Bridge MIB, Ethernet MIB and IF MIB for integration with compatible network monitoring systems.
An RS-232 console interface is available for local configuration and troubleshooting.
Industrial Communication Protocol Support
The switch supports industrial Ethernet communication protocols including:
- EtherNet/IP
- Modbus/TCP
These protocols allow the switch to be used in industrial Ethernet environments together with compatible PLCs, controllers, HMIs and automation equipment.

Why Use a Managed PoE Switch?
An unmanaged PoE switch simply forwards network traffic and supplies power.
A managed PoE switch provides additional control over how devices communicate and how network bandwidth is used.
The INS2M2GF26GT-24POE allows administrators to:
- Separate cameras, access points and office devices with VLANs
- Prioritize critical network traffic with QoS
- Monitor devices through SNMP
- Restrict traffic using ACL rules
- Diagnose traffic using port mirroring
- Aggregate multiple links
- Build redundant network paths
- Monitor multicast traffic
- Configure the network remotely through Web, CLI or SSH
This makes it more suitable for medium and large networks where reliability, security and troubleshooting are important.
Important PoE Power Note
The switch provides a maximum total PoE budget of 400W and up to 30W on an individual IEEE 802.3at PoE+ port.
Actual available power depends on the total power consumption of all connected devices.
For example, twenty-four devices each requiring 15W would require approximately 360W, while twenty-four devices each requiring 25W would exceed the total 400W PoE budget.
Always calculate the combined maximum power consumption of the connected PoE devices before installation.
SFP Module Selection
The two fiber uplink ports are standard 1G SFP slots.
Compatible applications include:
| Module Type | Application |
| 1G Multimode SFP | Short-distance multimode fiber links |
| 1G Single Mode SFP | Longer single-mode fiber links |
| 1G BiDi SFP | Single-fiber point-to-point links |
| 1G Copper SFP | Confirm compatibility before deployment |
The SFP ports are specified for 1000Mbps operation.
10G SFP+ modules are not supported by these 1G SFP slots.
