1GE CATV ONU Overview

The 1GE CATV ONU is a compact XPON optical network unit designed to deliver Gigabit Ethernet and CATV video services over a single FTTH fiber connection.

It supports automatic GPON and EPON identification, allowing the ONU to operate with compatible GPON or EPON OLT networks without requiring a different hardware model. The PON interface uses an SC/APC connector with 1310nm upstream and 1490nm downstream wavelengths, while the integrated CATV receiver supports a 1550±10nm optical video signal.

One 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port provides Gigabit network access for a router, computer, switch, or other Ethernet device. The separate 75Ω CATV RF interface converts the received 1550nm optical CATV signal for connection to compatible television distribution equipment.

The ONU supports Web configuration, IGMP Snooping, and automatic MDI/MDIX operation. It is suitable for FTTH deployments that require broadband data and traditional CATV service without Wi-Fi or additional Ethernet ports.

The default firmware mode is SFU. HGU firmware can be supplied on request. Actual OLT and ISP compatibility depends on the required authentication method, ONU profile, service VLAN, and network configuration, so the OLT model and authentication requirements should be confirmed before replacing an ISP-provided ONU.
