FC to LC Fiber Adapter Overview

The FC to LC Fiber Adapter is a single mode hybrid adapter designed to connect an FC/UPC male equipment interface to an LC/UPC female fiber connector.

Its FC/UPC male side connects directly to a compatible FC/UPC female equipment port, while the LC/UPC female side accepts a standard LC/UPC male connector. This fixed male-to-female configuration provides a convenient conversion solution when optical test equipment and existing fiber cables use different connector types.

The adapter converts the standard 2.5mm FC ferrule interface to the compact 1.25mm LC interface. A ceramic alignment core helps maintain accurate fiber positioning and stable optical transmission, with insertion loss of ≤0.3dB and return loss of ≥50dB.

Its compact plug-and-play construction eliminates the need to replace existing equipment, install a dedicated FC-to-LC hybrid patch cable, or perform fusion splicing. It is suitable for visual fault locators, optical power meters, optical instruments, communication equipment, laboratory testing, and telecom network maintenance.

Both optical interfaces should be inspected and cleaned before connection. Dust, oil, or damaged connector end faces can increase insertion loss and reduce measurement accuracy.
