SC to LC Fiber Adapter Overview

The SC to LC Fiber Adapter is a single mode male-to-female hybrid adapter designed to connect an SC/UPC equipment interface to an LC/UPC fiber connector.

Its SC/UPC male side connects directly to a compatible SC/UPC female equipment port, while the LC/UPC female side accepts a standard LC/UPC male connector. This fixed interface configuration provides a convenient conversion solution when optical equipment and existing fiber cables use different connector types.

The adapter converts the standard 2.5mm SC ferrule interface to the compact 1.25mm LC interface. A ceramic alignment sleeve helps maintain accurate fiber positioning and stable optical transmission, with insertion loss below 0.3dB and return loss of at least 50dB.

Its compact plug-and-play construction allows direct interface conversion without replacing the equipment port, installing a dedicated hybrid patch cable, or performing fusion splicing. It is suitable for optical power meters, visual fault locators, optical light sources, fiber test equipment, communication devices, and telecom network maintenance.

Both optical interfaces should be inspected and cleaned before installation. Dust, oil, or damaged connector end faces can increase insertion loss and reduce test accuracy.
