FC APC to LC APC Fiber Adapter Overview

The FC APC to LC APC Fiber Adapter is a single mode hybrid adapter designed to connect an FC/APC male equipment interface to an LC/APC female fiber connector.

It converts the standard 2.5mm FC ferrule interface to the compact 1.25mm LC interface while maintaining an APC-to-APC optical connection. This makes it suitable for optical instruments, test equipment and communication devices that use an FC/APC port but need to connect to an LC/APC patch cable.

A ceramic alignment sleeve helps maintain accurate fiber positioning and stable optical performance. With insertion loss below 0.3dB and return loss of at least 50dB, the adapter supports reliable transmission across the 1200–1600nm wavelength range.

Its compact male-to-female design provides direct interface conversion without replacing existing equipment, changing the fiber patch cable or performing fusion splicing. The reusable construction supports more than 1000 insertion and removal cycles when the optical interfaces are properly cleaned and handled.

Installation and Maintenance

1. Remove the protective caps from both sides.
2. Inspect and clean the FC/APC and LC/APC interfaces.
3. Connect the FC/APC male side to a compatible FC/APC female equipment port.
4. Insert an LC/APC male connector into the LC/APC female side.
5. Avoid excessive force when tightening the FC threaded interface.
6. Replace the protective caps when the adapter is not in use.

Clean both connector end faces before installation. Dust, oil or damaged ferrules can increase insertion loss and reduce connection stability.
