ST Bare Fiber Adapter Overview

The ST Bare Fiber Adapter is a reusable fiber testing accessory designed to provide a temporary connection between prepared bare optical fiber and an ST test interface.

Its square flange construction is suitable for fiber test equipment, production test platforms, laboratory systems, and temporary optical connections. The adapter allows technicians to connect unterminated fiber to an OTDR, optical power meter, optical light source, or compatible test instrument without installing a permanent connector.

The epoxy-free structure makes the bare fiber easy to insert, remove, and test repeatedly. Replaceable plug and connector modules simplify maintenance, while the 126μm insertion hole supports precise positioning of the prepared fiber.

With insertion loss of ≤0.2dB and a rated operating life of more than 10,000 cycles, the adapter is suitable for repeated fiber measurement, production inspection, telecom maintenance, and laboratory testing. The fiber should be stripped, cleaned, and properly cleaved before insertion to maintain consistent measurement results.
